In this lesson, we are going to look at how to make two different types of questions. By the end of the lesson, we hope you can make lots of different questions in English!

.

1.- Let’s look at the form of a basic ‘question word’ question

This question is made up of four parts:

1.- Question word: Where

Basic questions usually appear in this order. Learn the order!

2.b. How many questions does Ginger ask Foxy?

.

2.c. Are the following statements True or False?

.

3.- Yes/No questions

.

.

We are now going to look at a different type of question, the ‘yes/no’ question.

Here are a few examples from the dialogue:

Do you swim every Saturday morning?
Do you go shopping with your sister?

We call them yes/no questions because the answer to these questions is always ‘yes’ or ‘no’.

.

3.a. What are the answers to the following yes/no questions in the dialogue?

.

3.b. We are now going to look at how to form these questions.

The form of the yes/no question is:

Auxiliary Verb (do) + Subject Pronoun + Verb

You can identify this parts in the questions below:

Do you swim every Saturday morning?
Do you go shopping with your sister?
Do you have a lot of homework to do at the weekend?

.

3.c. Put the following yes/no questions into the correct order.

4.- Practice

Answer the questions with your own answers.
